Jaden Norvell:We got some new we got some new equipment broke the bank a little bit but you know we bought
Dustin Steffey:the bank was on fire this week for sure. Was chopping. Yeah. So anyway, before we have fun because we definitely promised you an off the cuff episode with our personalities more than definitely coming out. We wanted to dive in Jaden and I and kind of recap the last two and a half months and make sure that we just kind of move forward, right, we've discussed a lot actually, wouldn't you say Jaden?
Jaden Norvell:I would just say it's two and a half months, man, it feels like it's been like a week or so fast.
Dustin Steffey:I know, at least, but we have a lot of thank yous to give. So first, absolutely last, I want to thank our listeners, I want to thank Chop nation for getting us top 150 in Australia. So Australia, huge shout out the UK, I want to thank you all out there for blessing us with top 100 Oh, and as of this week, USA, we love you, you are home dirt. And thank you for blessing us with top 200. So with that being said, we definitely have some big things coming. Obviously with this being said and done, we obviously have to keep continuing to move forward in providing the best content we have. We already have some fun things scheduled for the next rest of the year to be honest with you. And I'm just truly grateful and thankful for our listeners. Our listener base is definitely being heard by us.
Jaden Norvell:Love you guys chop nation guys doing great. Oh, did I say this? Um, my mom has cystic fibrosis, I just want to shout out you guys ran over $100 donated already to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. That's amazing. So want to give a round of applause for
Dustin Steffey:let's give them more credit words do because I did check that before we came on and we're at $373.22. So ah, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Um, we we didn't track. We haven't tracked for endzone yet and we will be but chop nation. Thank you for showing up. We love you. We appreciate you all we thank you definitely feel your support.
Jaden Norvell:It's amazing. These kids are going to be so happy that you guys are giving back. It just does wonders. It's amazing that the power we have and we don't even you know, haven't even met any of you guys yet and we're super excited eventually in the future to get to meet you guys as well. Thank you
Dustin Steffey:Yeah, with that being said, Jaden, let's let's clue them in on a couple things that we have coming down the pipeline, I think it's time to kind of clue him in on a couple things before we dive into recapping, so the first thing I wanted to clue you all in on is, we it is our vision Jaden and I to have at a minimum two in person, events per year, where we go somewhere. We don't know where yet, right? But to, to an undetermined location,
Jaden Norvell:undetermined location. It might be Australia mate.
Dustin Steffey:might be the UK, I don't know. But we want to have two big events each year. And obviously, if we get bigger, well, I'm more than that. But two to start, where we can be in person, and we can get to know our fan base, and we can just connect and have fun. I think Jaden wanted to do something with philanthropy too.
Jaden Norvell:Yeah, I mean, I would love to have an event where the proceeds go to either CF or, or a different charity that we come up with when it comes to but I would definitely tied in a charity.
Dustin Steffey:yeah, yeah. So I think we're on top of our to like, personal events, we want to have a couple philanthropy events, again, undetermined location. We will definitely figure that out. But we want to we want to make sure at least the seed was planted. Yes.
Jaden Norvell:Yeah. Amazing.
Dustin Steffey:And then one more fun fact, until we dive in. We also want to maybe at the end of the year, not Christmas, because we all have families, but sometime towards the end of the year, throw a party.
Jaden Norvell:Oh, shoot, self development party.
Dustin Steffey:Yeah, we won't be self development in too much. We'll be having lots of fun. still more to come on that. Just continue to do what y'all are doing out there. continue spreading the word continue giving us feedback. We definitely are waiting on that one person to tell us what logos they like or make us one so we can start getting some merch out. So Wink, wink hat. Let's go.
Jaden Norvell:Yeah, also, we want to get that comment section up. poppin. don't be afraid to shout out. Talk to us. We respond back. So hit us up.
Dustin Steffey:That was a question I had for Eugene. And I mean, I guess our personalities will come out now. So I comment on the end zone, right? Like I'm always the first one to freakin comment on end zone. I'm trying to like break the seal. I'm not scared. Like, why? Why is everybody else scared to break the seal with us? Like nobody wants to talk to us?
Jaden Norvell:I don't know. I don't really. I guess focus on that. Right? Like, if I see a comment, of course, I'm gonna respond to it and read it. But I'm not like saying yeah, like, you know.
Dustin Steffey:I'm kinda I'm kind of sensitive. But no, guys, if you want the all like honest truth, like we're not scary. Please comment, like, yeah, we'll respond. We are pretty active. We're trying our hardest right now. To do a post a day. I failed this week. I got three quarters of the week done. But we're trying to do a post today on all social media.
Jaden Norvell:We're figuring out as we go, guys, we're trying our best.
Dustin Steffey:But anyway, let's uh, let's move into the the the meat and potatoes. Let's recap the last nine episodes. Let's get us for for those of you just tuning in, who have never ever heard us, let's recap what we've talked about these last nine weeks, as we go into Episode 10, right, nine weeks.
Jaden Norvell:nine weeks.
Dustin Steffey:with that being said, the first topic that came up was fear. And to me, fear is powerful enough to keep us from achieving our goals and living our best lives. Right? It feeds to stagnant stagnation and keeps us from taking advantage of opportunities. Many people are living in the self made prisons of their own fears. So for me, as just a good example, like I was there, I still am there sometimes, okay. I live in my own torment. And sometimes I just don't want to talk to anyone about it and that's not okay. That isn't okay at all. Because if you live in that prison and torment yourself in fear, how are you supposed to move forward and Jaden can attest to this With me, like I, I, I'm strong in a lot of aspects. But I have opportunities just as we all do. And some of mine are the prison's of fear. And so I just want you all to know, like, I'm living proof of that struggle, as well, too. And I'm, I have a lot that goes on in my life. And I just want you all to know, like, I'm human, I bleed if you shoot me, I'll die. Just like you guys. So I mean, it. We're all the same. We're on equal playing fields.
Jaden Norvell:And absolutely, I agree. I think on the other end of that, I think anything worth doing is a little bit scary. You know, anything that that tests you as in the fear aspect, on the other end of it, it's always a good feeling once it's over with and I feel like I always learn something when I do things that scare me a little bit.
Dustin Steffey:What's your biggest fear?
Jaden Norvell:I don't really have a biggest fear. I don't like snakes. But I don't have like a biggest fear. I get scared of like, things as they come up. Like it was weird. Like yesterday, I was scared. I was I'm shooting a spring ball documentary for football. And my camera man was like, Yeah, I'm gonna get to go pro and I'll bring it tomorrow. And I was scared that like how stupid we're gonna look standing there with the GoPro in the middle of practice, like, the stupid things and then I woke up this morning and I was like, That's so dumb. Like, we should definitely bring that. Like it just I get scared of like things as they come up. It's weird.
Dustin Steffey:You videotape yourself running around with this GoPro like a jackass.
Jaden Norvell:I'm the director I'm sitting there doing the blue thing with the hands where you
Dustin Steffey:I do I take two things so I can like
Jaden Norvell:this take it taking a poop
Unknown:Stop the cap
Dustin Steffey:so yeah, I mean, just so you all know like Jaden and I both have fears we all do and we just want to relate with you all. So that was that was a powerful topic. And if you didn't listen to that episode, that episode was fear and focus is so a good segway would be focus, which focus is considered the term used to ensure that you're doing what's right by your own personal self, right. So you're taking care of numero uno, which is yourself. This could potentially be considered by many as selfish. But if used and positioned right, it is another avenue for helping yourself to grow and be better. So there is a very humongous difference between being super selfish, and having some self love and taking care of yourself. And so don't dance that line. But definitely like, take the time to focus. Do things for you. Make sure you're good, because if you're not good, nobody's good.
Jaden Norvell:I agree.
Dustin Steffey:And then another topic that we discussed so we discussed on an episode passion, which that episode I definitely like, became pretty crazy, because I'm pretty passionate person and no, ladies, I don't mean in that term, unless you want to find out Yeah.
Unknown:Yeah, baby.
Dustin Steffey:What I do mean for passion is this is the piece of the puzzle where you have a burning desire to react, and you're armed with all the tools to be successful, and you're able to achieve what you want. So at this point in time, that passion is what fuels what you're going to be doing.
Jaden Norvell:I like that. That was the purpose, passion and vision episode, right?
Dustin Steffey:That was the purpose passion and vision episode. So perfect segway, vision is the big picture.
Jaden Norvell:I feel like everybody's got a vision, right for like, what they want to do. I feel like those two things that we've talked about purpose and passion or what kind of that term is that their vision becomes a reality.
Dustin Steffey:Right? Right. Right. And I think what the vision part vision is so important, because if you don't have a vision, how are you supposed to like, move forward?
Jaden Norvell:Exactly.
Dustin Steffey:I mean, I don't like going into things blind. Sometimes I do, but
Jaden Norvell:I see what you did there. I was gonna make an Avengers reference, but it just didn't. It didn't quite fit there.
Dustin Steffey:It's trying to have fun Jaden. I mean, we don't want to bore our audience.
Jaden Norvell:But don't you don't you feel like everybody has a vision. But if they don't have passion and purpose, they can't achieve it. Like if you just have a vision you know, what do you think?
Dustin Steffey:I think you're right. I think everybody to their bare core has some form of a vision. The problem is and what I see and this is in no way am I a doctor MD, but I'm definitely a doctor in business.
Jaden Norvell:Stop the cap.
Dustin Steffey:And with that being said, my in my humble opinion, some people just don't have the tools to be able to move forward and that's why we're here another reason why we are here is to refresh
Jaden Norvell:Oh
Dustin Steffey:I was telling Jaden before this episode that this soundboard that we have is going to be dangerous
Jaden Norvell:we are having too much
Dustin Steffey:Jaden is having so much fun. He has his phone up right now and he's downloading stuff into the soundboard.
Jaden Norvell:Yeah, so you guys definitely listen to episode purpose, passion and vision. That was one of my favorite ones that we've done.
Dustin Steffey:Absolutely. And then we had another fun one that I really thoroughly enjoyed because the whole point of our podcast is not only to help each other, but to show people success right and to show people other successful people so we had an episode with our buddy Kellend Chaffee multi millionaire and that was that was on health. And I think that that is one of the most neglected development personal development topics in all time in my opinion, because health is your mind body and soul portion.
Jaden Norvell:I agree especially in America I feel like we as a as a country we're we're kind of lazy but we're majority of us are overworked and we don't really take time to focus on our health. We're focused on our families and focus on supporting ourselves it's hard right now. So I think health is that was a really good episode. Thanks again to Kellend for coming on. If you guys want to find out how Kelly got chapter Mexico you can check out that episode we touched on that.
Dustin Steffey:Kelland is so gonna like love you for just pointing that out.
Jaden Norvell:And then we were but that covers emotional health too, right? Not just physical health.
Dustin Steffey:no so we just we just touched on physical health with Kellen because Kellen opened his own online fitness and pharma. Yes, yeah. And Joe health we are going to touch on and we're going to tell you greater depth in later episodes for sure. Because there's so much to it. So it's going to take us quite a few episodes to touch on that.
Jaden Norvell:I'm excited. It's gonna be fun.
Dustin Steffey:Um, motivation, in my opinion, is pretty important, too. We definitely covered motivation, which is the fuel that keeps you going on your journey to the end result, right? So, motivation, if you're not motivated, you're not gonna do anything. You might as well not get out of bed. And if that's the case, you might as well just dig a hole.
Jaden Norvell:This is lack of motivation. And it's one of those things like make or break for for most people.
Dustin Steffey:So let me ask you something, Jaden. So you and I like we're pretty active people as far as like going everywhere and doing a bunch of things. How did COVID impact you?
Jaden Norvell:So I the first day, so I worked at quake construction. As you guys know, they're my sponsor for Enza. Shout out quit. We love Koi. I am so I had to quit that job though, because my mom has fibrosis, as you know, when we took contract cleaning homes to Canada, so I didn't want to risk that for my mom. And also I didn't really like cleaning up homeless encampments. So I took a job at the silver legacy, which is the casino and downtown Reno, dusty my first day on the job as a hotel clerk, the casino closed because of COVID. So I was in there for four hours ended up leaving with two weeks worth of pay stipend. So that changed my life completely. Um, COVID changed by completely I ended up going back to school, doing that for a bit and then I basically got me here, I wouldn't be at this point if it wasn't for COVID and i That's why I believe I don't know what you guys believe. But I believe everything happens for a reason. And I just think that that was meant to kind of change my course in life. But it was scary, man, it was really scary because I actually had COVID on my birthday two years ago, my 21st birthday, I spent alone in my bedroom, unable to taste anything unable to smell anything, but I was still doing my thing. You know, I had a couple of drinks. I was cool. And it helped me beat UNLV that weekend too, but yeah COVID was scary. It was scary for a while and now I'm kind of used to it. Um, but again prayers to everybody that affected by still and, and we wish you guys the best in your recovery. And please stay safe out there because it's still alive and it can still, you know, come at
Dustin Steffey:I'm glad COVID impacted you in a way that like, you. kept your motivation going, it had the complete opposite effect on me. So my story was a little different. I've been working since I was eight years old. So I did a paper out with my father until 14. And then I had an under the table job from 14 to 16, when I could actually get a paycheck, and then work from 16 on. So when COVID hit for me for my job, I consult in the tobacco industry, right. And so we go to a lot of stores, and we couldn't, so we were barred to stay at home. So I was sitting at home in front of my computer 12 hours a day and that was unhealthy. And ultimately, it led to me going to the hospital for about three days because my, my I wasn't motivated, right. So I was not motivated at all. and that was scary for me because I thought I was dying. So after that moment, like, I had an epiphany and at that point, that's when I said no, I can't do this staying in one place in front of a computer for 14 hours. thing I need to be active. And so that changed my life. Plus I have a daughter, right? So she was I definitely scarred her because when I drove myself to the ER with her and so she was she was scarred. Right. So, I mean, she's such a trooper, and she was scared at that moment, because without her dad, she would have been sad.
Jaden Norvell:What happened? Like, what would you get an ulcer on your ass from sitting on it?
Dustin Steffey:I mean, nice try, buddy. No, it was in all actuality, it was pretty serious, right? I was having chest pains, lots of them. And so I thought I was having like, like a stroke, heart attack? I don't know, you know what I mean? Absolutely. So I was I was in the hospital overnight in the ER, and it was bad, like for three days. And they ran a bunch of tests and took my blood and all the things that doctors do. So one, thank you to the doctors, because without them, I probably would not be here. But to thank you for the wake up call do. Yeah. So like COVID COVID's impacted a lot of people and it's not a joke at all. And I I I take it I take it very very, very seriously. I mean, I know a lot of us are frustrated about like the masks and all the things that have gone on and the safety concerns and all of that stuff. But when we look at everything, like nothing's more important than your health, and so please make sure to take care of yourself.
Jaden Norvell:Did you ever try like a different chair like the exercise ball chairs or like the stand? And I've seen your office? So there's not really room for that. But like, what did you do to kind of, you know, people were like, Oh, well, you should just exercise but your job you have to be in front of that screen all the time. So what did you do to kind of fix that?
Dustin Steffey:I Got a stationary so you've been to my house like as of recent right before then I had a stationary bike in my room. So what I ended up doing was, I would work for a few hours take a break on the bike. Then they come back and work a little more than go back on the bike to kind of get some of that. Some of that energy like outright and exercise.
Jaden Norvell:It's awesome. So that's important.
Dustin Steffey:Yeah, that saved me and then I got a couple people to bandwagon with me and we had a bike wars.
Jaden Norvell:Nice There you go, like the peloton stuff.
Dustin Steffey:Yeah, yeah, it was it was pretty fun. And then I got Payton involved. I got her yoga mat and stuff and we do abs and stuff together.
Jaden Norvell:That's awesome.
Dustin Steffey:So health health is no joke. And so that was a fun episode. And again, guys, there's gonna be more to come on this. Like there's so much to talk about when it comes to personal development. And we've only hit like the tip of the ice.
Jaden Norvell:tip of the iceberg mind. And honestly, health is the most important thing you can do all just focus, passion, you know, conquer your fears. But if you're not healthy, you're not. It's not looking good, buddy.
Dustin Steffey:Yeah, I agree. Um, that leads us into the next one, which would be adaptability. And this is the development piece that allows for an individual to do what we are truly capable of and keep going. If you aren't adapting that's
Jaden Norvell:what a Yoda say. I think that just is perfect.
Dustin Steffey:Yeah, that sums it up for sure. And then we have confidence, right? Confidence comes from feel the feelings of well being acceptance of your body and mind your self esteem pretty much, and the belief in your own ability, skills and expertise.
Jaden Norvell:So that was my favorite episode because we touched on high confidence, positive confidence to help the amount of confidence and then low confidence. That was my favorite episode.
Dustin Steffey:I think that that was that episode where you actually were super vulnerable to because you, you were able to touch on every level of confidence, and you were pretty vulnerable with chop nation during that episode,
Jaden Norvell:chap.
Dustin Steffey:And then last week, we ended before our 10th Episode anniversary on goal setting, which that was pretty fun for us. That's what you need to do to arrive at the End vision or goal and we were able to actually outline kind of where our goals are and where we're heading with both chopping with fire and Jaden's in zone podcast, we were able to kind of walk you guys through the journey of our goals.
Jaden Norvell:I like that one too. Goal setting is very important. We touched on setting long term goals. We touched on my vision board I had when I was younger. These are all great episodes. Guys. This is stuff that is very important. No matter what age you are, no matter where you are in life, you can learn something and we're learning we're learning with you guys. That's a special part.
Dustin Steffey:Absolutely. So just Just to recap, just to recap the recap. We touched base on fear, focus, passion, vision, health, motivation, adaptability, confidence, and goal setting. And, again, there's more to come. And there's more that we can do to kind of deep dive into these, we have some fun things planned in the future for kind of moving forward. But now the fun begins. We promised you guys that our personalities would come out. So for the rest of the episode, we're gonna just kind of have some fun here and just kind of be Jaden and Dustin and see what comes out of it.
Jaden Norvell:And do bump like in doobly doo. Lovely, lovely, long talk about man chop nation. I gotta hop these comments up. Cuz if y'all want us to retouch on the topics, holler at us on the comment section. And we will come back to if you have questions. You guys got to have questions. We've had 10 or 10 weeks of episodes. You know, there's been no questions. We're not that good at explaining things like there's no way you guys don't
Dustin Steffey:speak for yourself. I'm pretty damn good at explaining things.
Jaden Norvell:Yeah, you pretty good. Because we must be teaches them and then I'm like, okay,
Dustin Steffey:or it could be the opposite. We could be horrible teachers. And they're like, Who are these guys? We don't want to talk to them. So, YouTube, I want to like, that's gonna be fun. We're supposed to be releasing YouTube on Sunday for chopping with fire. So for those of you that have been with us since day one, we have a YouTube Yes. But Jaden, and I like, looked at it, and we wanted to evolve it. We wanted it to be more fun, we, we understand the value of podcasts. And we understand the value of a lot of these visual learners that are like watching these podcasts where women, men, children, whomever, are sitting down at a table, so we wanted to evolve our YouTube, instead of sitting around on our desks on our mic, whatever you guys see in our lovely mugs, we wanted to evolve it. And so this Sunday, we're going to give you a taste of it. And our first video which our first video is going to be, what is chopping with fire? Which is a great question. I'm sure many of you are wondering, like, what is choppin with fire? How did you come up with the name? What's the vision of it? Why are you doing it? So you guys are just going to teach us how to develop ourselves and hope for the best. I mean, I did it. I feel it. I feel it from all of you all. And so Jaden and I were tampering with how are we gonna do this? So Jaden, Jaden, of course, being the big visionary he is, well, I'm gonna stop the cap. I'm gonna film it on a football field and be grand like I'm Daddy Warbucks blah, blah, blah, wear a suit whatever? And I'm like, no, no, dude, that's not what we're doing.
Jaden Norvell:You just go to football field. Okay.
Dustin Steffey:Yeah, this guy was like, hey, oh, yeah, yeah, he's like you got a football field you can do it on a football field. I was like that's not the point and Choppin with Fire Man, this isn't in zone. Let's Let's shift our mind. So my idea, which he'll make fun of me for was, well, what if we did like a Barbara Walters, interview type status and just interview each other on what chopping with fire does.
Jaden Norvell:Who is Barbara Walters, I know that I've heard the name Barbara Walters with us before me on my time. Like Oprah I know is I know Oprah.
Unknown:You're fired.
Jaden Norvell:Barbara, Barbara wall, Barbra Streisand. What was Barbra Streisand. She actress?
Dustin Steffey:we're not going to tell you guys how the video is going to be. We just gave you a couple minutes into our thought process and minds. One is really extreme. The others really extreme. So maybe we'll land right in the middle.
Jaden Norvell:Yeah, I kind of shot a shot for the moon with the football stadium idea. But I just thought it cause I don't know, maybe I'll do both. I don't know. For location wise, but super excited. We just wanted we wanted the YouTube videos to be proper. That's why it's been taking a little bit but it's gonna be really cool. It's not going to be boring. expression is going to be entertaining. And it's going to be worth your subscription, hitting that subscribe button on our YouTube, hitting that notification bell. So you can get to see us every week or whenever we upload them. I think it'll be every week or something like that. But you're very excited to bring it to you.
Dustin Steffey:Yeah, definitely every week. Um, and furthermore, when you and I are together Jaden, we're going to be probably like taking our listeners on our journey. So whatever dumb stuff we decide to do, they're going to be around.
Jaden Norvell:Think we're going to Vegas. But we're not going to Vegas. Self developing guys go to Vegas. Oh no. Okay, we're going to Vegas. We're gonna tour the UFC training facility, and maybe touch a little bit more on health with you guys. You guys see, UFC training facility. Last time I checked Khabib was there. So we might get asked to be some self development questions. I don't know if he speaks English. I'm sorry. It could be I don't know if you do, but I hope you do. And it's gonna be sick. Dude. I'm super excited. And I've never been to Vegas like actually besides playing UNLV but I've never actually been to Vegas Vegas. So I'm excited to see the city and see what's up. So if you're in Vegas, and you want to come meet us, definitely holler at us drop a comment. Let us know. Hey, I'm in Vegas, and then we might put on an event or do something cool for you.
Dustin Steffey:Yeah, definitely. If we do get some, if we get some comments like subscribes, and y'all want to kind of chat it up with us. Please, we'll we'll make it work. We'll schedule something. Jaden and I are used to working last minute to put together an event in Dubai. What else? What else? Do we want to give them a couple of other nuggets? Right? Yeah. We're gonna be talking about crypto.
Jaden Norvell:Yeah, we'll be talking so we're gonna be talking about crypto. Just more self development topics. I had an Uber Eats account and the people I went to open this business bank account yesterday. This guy was like, your Uber Eats guy. Like yeah, so the guy charges hundreds of dollars UberEATS every month. So bad dude, so toxic. So Dustin, I went to Dustin's house. He lives in the country. So I still try to order Uber Eats like every day. I just try to do it. And I got it twice out of like two weeks I found two delivery guys. But I tried every takeout place there was within like two weeks
Dustin Steffey:This man has issues so like he stayed with me for three weeks. And I swear Peyton eats less than him like and I thought Payton ate a lot
Jaden Norvell:she's Eight
Dustin Steffey:eats like 500 meals a day. I don't know how and where does it go like It's like this man's going to the bathroom and like getting his meal out and then he's going to get another meal like I swear I can't keep
Jaden Norvell:I don't even I don't even go to get another meal I just eat it on the toilet
Dustin Steffey:so bad dude so bad
Jaden Norvell:I would love to get your I would love to do something Dustin where like viewers that like call they kind of like a long live call thing but like over zoom, where they can request to join our meeting and shit and we maybe post a meeting ID up somewhere and they can join in and We can talk to our listeners.
Dustin Steffey:So if you're interested in calling in and talking, we actually upgraded in life, Jaden and I and we have these cool things called Road caster pros that we can Bluetooth our phones into, and actually have people call in and have some fun. So if that's something that you're interested in doing, maybe what we'll do is we'll we'll go live one week, like right now we're releasing episodes on Sundays. Maybe if there's enough picked interest, we'll go live on one day and just have fun answering questions.
Jaden Norvell:Who's giving out your their phone number? me or you?
